Winterized Alcohol Stove Test 1 |
The windscreen shown here was modified by punching two offset rows of holes (to supply the stove with air) along the very bottom of a MSR windscreen that I have stapled together in a loop (after shortening the length of the foil) as to make a square that can be folded flat.
This is KEY- I made a few larger hole in each corner of the windscreen which are big enough to push a small aluminum rod type tent stake through, right through the foam pad into the snow below to anchor the windscreen in windy conditions - you can see one of the tent stakes just below the pot lit handle in the picture >.
The test continues...
1:40 min. 22 ounces of chilly well water ( probably 38-40 degrees) in a Snow Peak Titanium pot with lid are set upon the mighty Winter Photon, in high hopes that soup would not be far off..
