Winterized Alcohol Stove Test 1

Here is the first test of this little cob-job.

Test Conditions: Temperature - 4 F Wind - Light

The stove has been left in the cold for a half hour.
I have stamped out a little spot in the snow - as level as possible - and set down a 10"x10" piece of ridgerest pad. This keeps the stove from melting the snow underneath it , which can cause the pot and stove to tip over - a good thing to avoid.

0:00 minutes I fill the stove with a shot of dry gas ( methanol) that is room temperature ( if you were camping, you would most likely want to warm the fuel before using it, but I haven't done any "cold fuel" testing yet - I don't imagine it would vaporize well), and drizzle a bit of fuel into the preheat cup. It takes a few flamings from a lighter to get the preheat going.

1:30 min. The main burner takes off. We be torchin'.
