News Release - Vermonter sets new record for climbing all 48 4000 foot peaks of New Hampshire

Dear Editors,

Beginning on July 6 at 5:00 am, and ending on July 9 at 8:51 pm atop remote Owl's Head mountain in

the Pemigewasset Wilderness, 41 year old Vermont photographer Tim Seaver (http://www.vermontphoto.com) set

a new record for speed climbing all 48 4000 foot peaks in New Hampshire. With the support of his wife Elisabeth and a

small group of friends, as well as a network of cached water bottles placed by him along the route previously, he set a

new record of 3 days, 15 hours, and 51 minutes, beating the old record by exactly 1 and 1/2 hours set in

August 2002 by Ted "Cave Dog" Keizer ( http://www.thecavedog.com). ( Cave Dog, who happens to be in Vermont training to set a new record

on the Long Trail, graciously offered to meet Tim on his final summit when hearing of Tim's challenge

posted at the "Views From The Top" website { http://www.viewsfromthetop.com/ }, but didn't get the route

information in time to meet Tim at Owl's Head)

A spreadsheet of Tim's event times and routes taken, which include a storyline in the "notes" sidebar, can be seen at:
